The building passport is developed and distributed by the Foundation Building Passport Switzerland. The foundation is supported by prominent figures in Swiss industry, is non-profit, and economically, politically, and religiously independent and neutral.
The building pass can be applied for via the website under the "My Building Pass" tab. The office verifies the applicant's eligibility to issue the requested building pass. Upon successful verification, the applicant receives a link to their building pass.
No, but according to the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), the Federal Council has considered in the past putting a corresponding law out for public consultation. The Swiss Building Passport Foundation's building passport therefore makes a significant contribution to improving the energy efficiency, climate neutrality, and sustainability of Swiss buildings. Furthermore, it promotes the development of digital tools and data systems for managing this transformation.
GS1 standards for the globally unique identification of construction products have been widely used in the construction industry for years and are now gaining increasing importance due to future legal requirements. The use of other industry-standard construction and real estate standards in connection with the building passport is, of course, still possible, actively supported, and highly encouraged!
100% – the concept of the Swiss Building Passport was developed, programmed ("Swiss Made Software"), and tested in Switzerland. The Swiss Building Passport application is hosted on Nine's Deploio cloud hosting platform, and all data is stored in Switzerland. The advantage of this solution is that both the data location and the legal structures are 100% Swiss. Nine complies with both ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 standards.
